He was a member of the Baptist Church in Oklaunion, Texas, and a member of the American Legion Post 320 in Chillicothe. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. H. A. Bohot of Alvin and Mrs. J. N. McClure of Oklaunion, Texas; three sons, Milton (V. M.) Spruill of Fort Worth, James W. Spruill of Tyler, and Lloyd (L. J.) Spruill of Azle; two sisters, Mrs. W. G. Bell of Vernon and Mrs. Ivy Mulkey of Abilene; one brother, Sam Spruill of Chillicothe; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren."
